A photo series regarding the question: "Do you take away someone else's territory by claiming your own?" Thinking about this question made me realise that you're always taking away someone's territory by expanding your own. Whether it's big or small, important or not. To symbolise this question I created a metal mask, inspired my medieval shame masks, adorned with spikes and ribbons. This creates an interesting visual contrast that symbolises the different human emotions and behaviours. By looking at this photo series, different questions can arise. Is the wearer closing out people? Or is she being closed out by the people around her. Those questions can lead to interesting conversations and to new insights.
